Damian Radcliffe, a journalism professor at the University of Oregon and fellow of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University, lists 19 ways the global pandemic has positively and negatively impacted the media business in the last nine months. Overall, Prof. Radcliffe suggests that many developments are existing trends that have accelerated to hyperspeed. Trends he expects to increase momentum include workforce reductions, distributed teams, increased dominance of media platforms, differentiated revenue strategies, and evolving media consumption habits.
